This summer is flying. It's been good. Busy. I didn't sleep well last night and kept waking up. Finally, got up to go to the bathroom and I saw that one of the dogs had gotten sick. Yup, here there and everywhere. Thank goodness, my dear darling husband knows that I'll clean up anything that the kids have made, but I don't do well cleaning up after a dog. He jumped out of bed (ok, he didn't jump, but he got up!) and cleaned the mess(es) up. After, I didn't go back to bed and here I am. It's one morning I don't have to be to work until 9:00 a.m. -- I could of slept in!
This summer is in it's last few weeks. I can't believe how it has flown! We've had a couple of family trips, soccer games, raising monarch butterflies, reading, picnics, swimming, lots & lots of playing, etc. Even though we are keeping up with some reading and a little math, still no homework and strict schedules (nice!) This week the kids have Vacation Bible School (VBS). Yes, and when I say kids...I mean all three kids! It was kinda weird dropping them off yesterday morning and then going back to the van with not a single child with me! Sweet in many aspects, but also bittersweet. I went to a spin class and then went home and took a leisurely shower and a nice lunch with no interruptions...silence in my home. I just savored my time! It felt like (and probably was) my first time in eight 1/2 years without a child in the house with me! Next year, I'll probably volunteer (VBS) to help, so I am totally going to enjoy every silent moment this week.

My effort to get a nice portrait wasn't successful. I took this right before going to church a week ago. I look at it now and it is sooooo my three kiddos. Robert being kind of silly/mischievous, Kelsey happy, happy, happy & giving her cheesy smile, Ryan leaning in and probably thinking...I have to put up with this crazy family! They're all pretty cool kids (even if they are growing up too fast!) This is truly a sweet spot in motherhood for me...they all still love me, but don't overwhelm me with their neediness. I learn so much from them on a daily basis...they truly reel me in and help me put things in perspective.

Kelsey playing Frisbee at the beach. Oh..to be so carefree & bold in a bikini!!!
That's Tim hitting the volleyball. Some of his Rotary beach volleyball team got together Saturday night to practice at McCarty's Cove. Notice, someone forgot to tell them they should have a net. Afterwards they all went (including Robert & Ryan) swimming in the waves of Lake Superior.
We need time to dream, time to
remember, and time to reach the
infinite. Time to be. -Gladys Tabor
(perfect quote when I look at this photo of Robert)
This photo I took of Robert fishing off the dock at Saux Head Lake. We were there for a pig roast/party with friends. If we would of let him...Robert would of stayed out by the water fishing all day.
Gotta go and get ready for work and get the kids up, fed and ready. Here I sit at the computer when I should of went to the gym and worked out. Oh...I'll have time the rest of the week...right?
Have a great Tuesday and make sure to take time to enjoy all the moments you can!
Let me tell, time is a very precious gift
of God; so precious that it's only
given to us moment by moment.
