The top three photos of this collage are of Tim & the boys vegetable garden at our community garden. It's been growing like crazy. Lots of beans, peppers, beets, carrots, dill and lots of other herbs, etc...and even a big 'ole rutabaga! The next two rows are photos of us picking raspberries at Lew & Kathy's house. They were nice enough to have us come and pick a few times (like every year) and we like to eat them about as fast as we can pick them...they taste best that way!! We did bring home enough (3 cups) to make my raspberry lemon shortbread tart recipe---it was so good with fresh berries!

Of course, you can have all the most beautiful vegetables and berries in the world, and I'm still drawn to the flowers. Some from my garden and a few from the community garden.
Hydrangea's from the front of my house. Do you see what kind of bottle they are in? It's a Milk of Magnesia bottle. Isn't that cool. Some of you may not even remember that blue glass bottle...I do.
A gentle word, like summer rain,
May soothe some heart
and banish pain.
What joy or sadness often springs
From just the simple little things.
