Random Stuff (again)...

-Quiet at the moment around here.
-I'm here at the computer sipping pumpkin spice coffee.
-Loving the wonderful scent of a pumpkin spice candle (can you tell I like pumpkin?!?)
-Robert had some visual integration testing done this morning at the hospital early this morning.
-Kelsey is still in her pajamas.
-I have about four grocery bags of old/misc. toys to take to Good Will. The trick is always to try and do this without Kelsey seeing what I am doing!
-I have laundry, notes, phone calls, etc....to finish.
-I just finished reading two books to Kelsey (One Hungry Monster and The Mixed Up Chameleon)
-I just stole two little tootsie rolls from the kids candy bags leftover from the NMU Homecoming Parade.

Yesterday after school I made the boys and Kelsey a mug of hot chocolate with lots of marshmallows. It's more of a winter treat, but it was so cold, windy and wet yesterday, it felt more like hot chocolate weather. Actually, warm apple cider would of been appropriate for this time of year, but I didn't have any. After finishing their hot chocolate the boys worked on "Fire Escape Plan" posters for Fire Prevention Month. It is a poster contest for all the elementary schools in town (K-5) and the grand prize for each grade is a ride to school in a fire truck. How cool would that be!

These are just random shots from the past few weeks. It's finally looking & feeling like fall in the U.P. The top right corner is a picture of the kids when we stayed in the hunting camp trailer in Gaylord--they loved it, however, I was on the lookout for mice! The middle left is Kelsey using the bathroom there. The middle photo is Jessica, Robert, Ryan & Kelsey enjoying drinks & hors d'oeuvres at the Yacht Club (Katie's wedding.) The middle right is Robert and his friend Patrick holding a snake they found at the bottom of Sugar Loaf Mountain. The bottom right are two little pumpkins the boys grew in their community garden.

I've got lots of scrapbooking I want to do. I don't have a scrapbook room, but all my scrapbook stuff is in the basement, so I am in the process of organizing what I have and trying to get inspired for some creative work and also just putting photos in some albums. It hasn't been easy. Just too many distractions around here lately. My words remind me that I should think about this quote and just "do" it.
You can't try to do things;
you simply must do them.
-Ray Bradbury

Have a good Thursday.
