What the...

heck is that weasel doing on Ryan! Yikes.

This photo was taken (by Tim) back in January. You might want to ask...you might not.

Never a dull moment around here.

Tim and I both contracted the flu this past weekend. Achy, nauseous, headache..you name it. His began Friday night and I started getting sick Saturday afternoon. Today I am MUCH better. Just tired. Same with Tim. Thank goodness for our friends, Lew & Kathy (Opa & Aunt Kathy), they came over and took the kids out both days for several hours to get them out of the house and have some fun with them. What a blessing they were to us this weekend.

Today I was up at 4:00 a.m. -- probably about 20 minutes of sleep. That's what you get when you doze on and off all day when your sick, then throw in the time change, and then take a couple of Excederin Migraine before bed. I forgot that stuff has caffeine in it! Yikes. I went to work, came home, got the kids off to school, took Kelsey to her doctor appointment, came home and continued working on the piles of laundry. Kelsey and I went out to lunch afterwards where she had chicken strips and I had a greek salad. After, we went to the dollar store, where I spent $20.08. I had $20.10 in my purse. I don't go there very often, but every time I do, I find things I just have to have. Today, I bought band aids, zip-loc bags, puzzles (for Easter baskets), and a few other miscellaneous items.

When I picked Robert up today after violin lessons the sun was shining bright and he said he is really itching for the sidewalks to be clear so he can get his bike out. Kelsey said she wants to get the stroller out and go for walks. They both kept asking me when we could get them (bike and stroller) out of the garage. Living here in the U.P., don't they understand we have about three more months of winter!?! They have high hopes. I have high hopes for a nice long rest tonight on crisp, clean sheets.

Yes. Enough rambling. Geesh, for not feeling like blogging, I sure did a long post.

Hope you and yours have a great and healthy week with lots of sunshine, blessings and high hopes!
I'll leave you with a favorite (Emerson)
"Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything that is beautiful;
for beauty is God's handwriting...a wayside sacrament.
Welcome it in every fair face, in every fair sky, in every fair flower,
and thank God for it as a cup of blessing."

OK, I'll bite...what's the story with Ryan & the weasel? I'm guessing it is a mount, otherwise the picture would have been of Ryan sans nose.

All right..I better jump in on this one. Here's the story. Ryan, Robert and myself were out checking our weasel traps and we had one. That is not a mount, it is a weasel we just pulled from one of our traps. As you can see we were having some fun when Ryan decided to act like the weasel was attacking him. That about it, not much more to the story than that. Hey when you have winters that last 11.5 mo., you have to be creative and make you own fun...:)
