We are Decking the Halls...

The kids worked and worked on their beautiful Gingerbread House Church. I don't think you can see in the pictures, but Robert made a steeple with toothpicks. They also made a shed and a pond. Love this tradition.

The tree is up and decorated. It's fun listening to the kids take out the ornaments (they each have their own box) and they oooohhhhed and ahhhhhhed and talk about the memories of each one. I took a bunch of pictures of different ornaments on the tree and realize that we have a very eclectic sort of theme going with woodsy, outdoorsy ornaments like canoes, sleds, deer, moose, fish, mixed in with snowmen, some doggies, favorite Disney characters, etc. All the ornaments tie in well with the white and red lights and the gold and red bulbs.

But, my very favorite ornaments are the homemade ones.

This one is five years old...Robert had just turned five. LOVE it.

I took Star to the veterinarian today for her surgery (spayed) and they just called to say that she is out of surgery and doing fine. Awake, but not up. I'll pick her up tomorrow morning for a quiet day of recovery. Seems so quiet around here without her.

Hope you and yours are having fun with some fun holiday traditions. Even though we aren't close to family at this time, our hearts are with all those we love and hold dear.
