Fat Tuesday...

Tim and I were awakened by Ryan hollering as he got downstairs, "it's Fat Tuesday, it's Fat Tuesday!" When I got downstairs, Ryan was buttering a couple pieces of bread. And proclaimed to me that he was ready for his cereal. And after that, he wanted some cinnamon toast. You would think we didn't feed the kid! He and Robert just seemed tickled at the whole name/concept of Fat Tuesday. And we heard it over and over again. Robert ate four waffles and a second glass of orange juice..."well, you know Mom, it's Fat Tuesday!" These kids. Ryan has just a half day, so I went to pick him up after picking up Kelsey from my friend, Becky's house (I help out Tues. a.m. in Robert's classroom.) The whole "Fat Tuesday" thing wasn't forgotten, because Ryan wanted a turkey AND ham sandwich and then he wanted to know what else he could eat. After a few pickles, some crackers, two more pieces of cinnamon toast, two chocolate chip cookies, I told him the kitchen was CLOSED! Tim explained to them about Fat Tuesday and that we are getting ready for lent and what the purpose of lent is, and so forth, but I don't think it'll be quite as exciting to them as "Fat Tuesday!"I think Ryan thinks he's not going to be getting much to eat during lent, so he has to store the food up like a squirrel. Hope you all are having a very happy "Fat Tuesday!"

Oh, and I know how to put in a link when I mention something that you might want to check out...for instance, we went to see the movie, Eight Below.

Laura,

Your bloggin is great! Tim shared the address, it is great to see the kids and stories. Our kids talk often about how much fun they have with your kids.

All the best.
