Spring Break...

Trying to get them to stop for one minute for a photo together was almost impossible! They had such FUN!

the boys are on spring break this week. Sunday, the kids and I loaded up the van and headed to Green Bay to stay at the Tundra Lodge. We were missing one husband/daddy, but we still had a great time. Many, many Marquette families there and our friend, Ann, who lives in Green Bay, came over Sunday night to help me with an extra set of eyes. Yesterday morning we got up and ate breakfast ...early...the kids watched cartoons, took a couple little walks around the hotel to look at all the huge stuffed animals, look at the large aquarium of fish, and finally got to go back to the waterpark until we had to check out. Originally, we were going to stay two nights, but without Tim, I cut it short. He has a BIG job in Iron River..putting in a new system in the hospital there. Anyway, we had a McDonald's lunch and headed to the mall. One new spring shirt each from Children's Place and a little bit of play time and we were headed back on 41 North. Stopped in Menominee for some ice cream. The kids slept quite a bit on the ride back...that was great for Mom.

Last night, the boys cleaned out the van (haven't checked that yet) and Kelsey and I listened to the Curious George Soundtrack (Jack Jackson & friends)-- nice, light and happy-sweet music. I highly recommend it. Kelsey loved it-she loves Curious George-and she could still dance to it.

We are headed to Iron River today for the night. We are going to stay with Tim at his hotel up there (has a pool, so the kids are in!) They have a great ski hill up there, but I'm not sure what I'd do with Kelsey if I went-plus I need another adult to help with the boys on the chairlift. I'm sure we'll get out skiing before the season is completely over. If Tim didn't have to work out of town all week, we'd for sure plan a day or two at the hill here.

I'm reading Dr. Mel Levine's book, "A Mind at a Time"--great and fascinating stuff. Makes you look deep into how children learn and makes you think about yourself and how we all have individual learning patterns and styles. Our minds are all wired so differently. I'm hoping to get some new strategies that I can use to help the kiddo's and Robert (especially) maximize his learning potential. He still struggles with reading...and I'm doing my best to help him and build his confidence.

Well, have a great spring break. And if you aren't on spring break--have a great week and think spring! This is where I would post a photo of a spring flower--but I don't have any yet!
