Ryan...

that same "smirky" grin he has had since a baby! If my scanner worked, I'd show you a photo I have of him at about 8 months old, and I swear, that same "smirky" grin on that so, so, so, sweet face!

It was a big weekend for Ryan because he learned very confidently how to ride without his training wheels. Robert got a new bike, so Ryan practiced with Robert's old one and he was practically "popping wheelies" in the parking lot. Just like downhill skiing, Ryan is very determined and practices until he is happy with his abilities. When I went with him downhill skiing this winter, he about gave me a heart attack each and every time we went up the chair lift. He was so fearless and self-assured. He is now the same way with his biking.

The one photo is of him yesterday after eating some barbeque chicken and getting ready for yet another bike ride. The other photo is him holding his coffee. He loves to have a cup of coffee with me on weekends or on the days he doesn't go to school. He likes the french vanilla creamer just like his mom. He always says he wants to get up a little early to have some "alone time with mom" and to drink coffee with me. I love that.

I can't believe he is finishing kindergarten. He was a great student and loved school. So amazing the progress a child can make in one year. His best friend is still his brother Robert. One day after school I asked him what his favorite thing at school was that day and he said "playing outside at recess with Robert"--made me so happy.

A small list of Ryan traits:
- blue eyes - almost 6 years old - always thinking about art - so sweet
- loves to plan parties - charming - friendly - smart - determined - playful - great brother - pure joy

Have a "sweet" Monday.
