I packed a lunch for us and after picking up the boys from school, we headed to lower harbor park for picnic and play. Robert asked me, after we were there a couple of hours, if he could go to the van and take a nap. I think the whole last week of school was a big drain on him. He did quite well this past semester and progressed/improved on every subject. His teacher had this to say on his report card..."Robert is a lovely little boy. He struggles right now with academics, but he has so many wonderful qualities in other areas. He is very kind and had a wonderful sense of humor. He understands when another child is hurting and knows just what to say and do. I enjoy Robert very much and I know we will see great things from him." I don't think she can even come close to understanding how that small note made me feel. It has been a tough year, academically for Robert, but he is trying so hard and we (Tim and I) are doing our best to stay on top of the necessary things to help him achieve.
"Treasure"
Caring teachers are among our nations
greatest treasures; they are entrusted
with it's future.
------------------------------------------------------------
God took one pair of angel wings
And patience without measure
Two eyes that see potential,
Great wisdom from his treasure
A smile to give encouragment -
A truly heavenly feature...
He wrapped it up with tender care
And called this gift a "Teacher"

We are looking forward to a great summer.
