I love my mother in law...for giving life to my husband of course...but, really for the constant care and love she supplies her family. She is an exceptional "Grandma" and I appreciate all she does for and with my children, even living nearly seven hours away. She does so many things to show her love.
I may get a little "mushy" here, but, oh well...it's my blog. After being with Tim for twelve years (married 9), I can't say I've always "clicked" with my mother in law (don't get me wrong, ALWAYS have gotten along-but I did marry a beloved son!) -- she is a perfectionist in housekeeping and baking...among many other talents. I am more of a free spirit and busy myself with other things I enjoy. I am more of "in the moment" and thrive among the chaos (well most of the time--I do like to be prepared and tend to research things a little too much.) But the chaos thing I got used to with eight siblings. Anyway, I try not to take for granted all she does...she was here the day after my Mom's surgery & stroke (7 hour drive by herself!) to help me with the kids. Here to help me after the birth of each of my children, always there to offer prayer/help when needed most. When we visit her house--she always makes my kids their favorite cookies, makes Tim his favorite pies and breads, always has my favorite french vanilla cream and special kona coffee. This last time she had new toothbrushes for everyone and new jammies for me when we arrived at her house at 1: 30 in the morning! She exhausts herself keeping up on laundry, having her refrigerator/pantry stocked with our favorites, making huge delicious breakfasts (because she knows it's what her sons love), and just all that she does to make our visits special.
We all have obstacles to overcome and hardships to endure...she is a great example in keeping GOD center in her life. I miss my own Mom so much and often feel overcome with sadness at times. I miss our daily talks. However, I feel "blessed" to have this Mom, too. I deeply appreciate and love her and know I can always count on her.
Mom/Grandma Glover doesn't have a computer, but she still may see this some day...and in the meantime, I'll send her a card and call her. It's important that we thank and acknowledge those who are important in our lives. This I know for sure.

That was sweet - I printed it out and sent it to her so she could see it....
