Gifts to Share...

each morning when the kids wake up they check the advent tree. They find a note and three Hersey's kisses (white choc./candy cane flavor--they are sooooo yummy!) The notes relate to good deeds, prayers, etc. All in the spirit of giving and being thankful. With all the heavy commercialism this time of year, I really want the kids (and to remind myself) the "true" meaning of Christmas. These little notes help to open up simple dialogue of how important (and easy) it is to give not just monetarily, but spiritually. And the reasons we celebrate our Savior's birth.

There are so many opportunities to help the less fortunate, especially this time of year. Giving Tree at church, service projects at school, Mom's Club adopt-a-family, Salvation Army, Toys for Tots, local Can-a-thon, etc., etc. I hope the boys realize that it is important and Christ like to help in any way they can. We all have gifts to share. A hug and warm smile can mean so much. This past weekend when we went to visit my Mom, the kids brought so much love/light to some of those residents. Tim is especially good.

Happy Monday...and don't forget to share your gifts.
