Thursday & Blog Anniversary...

Love Thursdays. Means it is almost the weekend. And, do I dare say...tonight is the one night I sit down with Tim and we watch television. Yup...The Office and Grey's Anatomy! I am just now tuning into a little of American Idol. I like it when it gets down to the more serious tryouts. Usually, when I do watch it, I have it on while I read a magazine, fold laundry, or like last night in the kitchen make 25 bags of "puppy chow" mix for Robert's class. Kelsey and I are helping out with some pre-race activities today (his class is holding their own sled dog race around the school-just with no sleds or dogs!) Very fitting for the occasion, we have fresh snow and blowing today. Yesterday it was more like a spring day...Kelsey and I walked with Robert's class to the library for a reading of Aunt Lulu (musher) and a tour.
I snapped this photo of Kelsey and Robert last weekend one morning. So typical....Robert or Ryan playing a game or something and Kelsey watching with intense curiosity/enthusiasm.
Bags of "puppy chow" for Robert's class. We sampled.....mmmmm....good.

This week (President' Day I think) it was one year since I started this blog. I am still technologically challenged, but I've really enjoyed posting pictures and little tid bits about the kids and our life. I think about my Mom and Dad a lot, because I know they would of LOVED it. I use to e-mail Mom pictures sometimes and it always made her day. She loved to see pictures of the kids and then we'd call and talk about the funny things they did or said. In my posts here I stick to positive things but I think I've also revealed some of the not so wonderful days. And now an entire year of my life in writing & a few pictures. It has been good. I love when I get comments or an e-mail from family and friends. It makes me feel connected. I love that it gets me thinking about things in a different light at times. I love that it has made me really think about the moments and the details and helps me keep my priorities in check. I still write in a journal occasionally and record some of my feelings and many quotes that I love. And, one of these days, I'll get back to scrapbooking more.

I haven't had much of a chance to go back and read through a lot of old posts - but I did take a little time the other day to look at a few and I have to say there was so much I had already forgotten. That first day of the boys soccer rally, Kelsey and some of her quirks....makes me happy. I feel very lucky and I hope that my kids feel lucky that I wrote some of it down. Happy Anniversary to my blog.

Now...to go throw a load of laundry in...bundle myself and Kesley up and head to school. Have a great Thursday.

You have got to own your days
and live them, each one of
them,
every one of them, or else
the years go right by and
none of them belong to you.

Hi Laura,

Happy anniversary to your blog! You do a wonderful job, and it was your blog that inspired me to finally start my own.

As for Thursday nights, it is our TV night too. Pankaj and I are huge fans of The Office (it's our new "Seinfeld"). One of these days I need to get him a Dwight bobblehead for his desk.
