Sandy Knoll Elementary School 400 M Kid-Dog Race

Robert was the lead dog for his team (his name was Balto). They had a printed program, race manager, mushers, dogs (kids), handlers, veterinarians, timers, judges and trail blazers.
They had checkpoints, starting gate/chute area, etc. It was a real learning experience (lots of math) and lessons in volunteerism and the importance of service for our community.
And most of all -- a fun time was had by all!

The race looks like tons of fun! I just learned who Balt was this year. It is amazing what I learn teaching 1st grade. :)
