Oh boy, did the kids have fun dying eggs today. Kelsey was really into it and when she was dipping her last egg into the dye, she took it out (with her hands, no less--the spoon/dipper was too cumbersome for her) and was about to dip it into another color - I sternly told her "no" and she broke down crying. I felt so bad and realized she just wanted to continue the fun and do her own thing...so I promptly told her to go ahead and do whatever she wanted with the last precious colored egg! When she was done she just held it {as you can see from photo above.} I'm sure it was her way of trying to stretch out the fun. (It may be awhile before the dye is completely washed from her itty bitty 3-year old hands!)
It was fun watching them. They (the boys) are quite independent in getting things set up and the appropriate amount of water and vinegar in each cup. Just had to be reminded of possible spills and how it could stain our floor and table. We even decorated a few eggs with glitter and puffy paint. {note, Ryan got a haircut--so no more wearing the cap!}
CREATIVITY is inventing, experimenting,
growing, taking risks, breaking rules,
making mistakes, and having FUN.
