Love is a symbol of eternity
It wipes out all sense of time,
destroying all memory of a
beginning and all fear of an end.

That was a little quote I placed on a valentine that the kids and I made Tim for Valentine's Day this year. I was looking at it the other day and thought, 'Wow, that is exactly how I feel when I think of Tim and our ten years of marriage and the three years being together before that.' That's 13 years and it feels like it's been a lifetime and at the same time feels like it was last weekend! Crazy. But, here we are celebrating our ten year wedding anniversary.
It was fun looking through our wedding album this morning. Our reception looked like a LOT of fun! Remember the Macarena?!?!?! Too bad, I didn't get a picture of Tim and one of his aunts ..mmmm Laurie, I think, dancing the polka! That was too funny when I looked up from eating my cake and one of my girlfriends says to me, "Laura, hate to tell you this, but I think that is your husband out there trying to polka!" My Gosh, we laughed so hard!! I am thankful for that day thirteen years ago when I got the call on my answering machine (I was in Atlanta for work) and I finally called him back to make that first date. So thankful, that something told me to 'go ahead..make the call' and the rest is history.
Meeting with the priest several times, taking marriage classes, filling out various worksheets to see if we are compatible, and then going over all the things we thought would prepare us for marriage and family. Now, when I think back through those times and the past ten years, I realize no matter what...marriage is really such a big leap of faith! You work at it and sometimes you fail at it, but I think the thing that keeps you going....is integrity and the attitude that you WILL make this work. For this, I am so thankful for Tim. He has taught me so much. He has encouraged me, supported me, and most of all helped me believe in myself, my family, and more importantly, us.
I am crazy in love with you, Tim, and so proud to call you my husband...Happy Anniversary!
