Seven Years Ago Today...

Ryan James Glover was born. What a wonderful day!! I got up real early that Sunday morning, before Tim and Robert were up and I was having little contractions. I was excited. I figured it would be later that day or night that I might deliver. I thought I'd go and pick up some donuts to surprise Robert with when he woke up. Then I thought I'd take a shower first so I'd be ready for church when I got back. Well, as I was showering the contractions were a little different and closer together. By the time Tim and Robert woke up, I could tell this may not take long. Robert's delivery was quite rapid, so the nurses at the hospital told me not to waste time when the contractions came 5 minutes apart or so with this pregnancy. They were about 3 minutes apart, so Tim made arrangements for our neighbors to take care of Robert and Tim and I strolled down the street to the hospital. That was 8:30 a.m. and Ryan came into the world at 10:20 a.m. Oh, the love we felt was overwhelming!

Now, for Robert, the first time meeting Ryan, the love was overwhelming also...but just in a different way.

It didn't take Robert long (couple minutes just with Mommy) and he accepted Ryan and loved him like a little baby doll.

Now, today, Ryan is SEVEN years old. From a chubby cheek little baby to a big seven year old. It's true, time flies. Ryan is sweet, thoughtful, smart, creative, fun, etc...I could go on and on.

We love you Ryan James Glover....Happy Birthday!!

I'm sure Ryan will be glad (and others, too) that I didn't post the "alien" baby picture.

I'm sick with the flu today...Ryan just went with Aunt Kathy to the art museum. Robert & Kelsey are eating Popsicles, planning some games in the basement for when he gets back (yes, huge mess!) I'm finally out of bed. We are having some of his friends to gather this Friday to "officially" celebrate Ryan's birthday with an art project, cake & ice cream. I should be feeling much better by then.
