{I want to put a new photo in my header/side...but everytime I try, the photo comes out all stretched and distorted. Even after I condense it...so I'm still working on that. Gotta have some new fall photos...coming soon, as soon as I have time to figure out the problems I'm having!...ugh, technology!}
We are in the swing of the fall routine...with a few adjustments here and there...I am sure things will start settling down a little bit in our household. I love the predictability and the routine fall brings, in the very same way that I love the carefree nature of summer. I volunteered at the boys school last week three full mornings and worked a few extra hours at work. Kelsey came along to the school with me and colored in her Crayola Color Wonder book with her Color Wonder Markers. She did real well, just started getting bored towards the last half hour or so each day. She's such a mama's helper when I need to help out at school. Last year and the year before I got a babysitter sometimes, but most days, I just took her along and she's just part of my team now. The teachers and parents know if they see me to help, most likely Kelsey will be along. I always bring a tote with some books, coloring sheets, etc., to keep her busy. By the time she gets to Kindergarten, she'll be real used to the whole school thing and be as ready as ever!
We were lucky enough to have visitors this past weekend. Aunt Sue, Isabelle, Brody and Grandma G. game up for a visit. Kelsey was so excited that her cousin, Isabelle, was coming to stay and play with her for a couple of days. And, of course, the home baked goodies that Grandma always brings is always a treat. We went to the Fall Harvest Craft Show at the Dome and took a little walk downtown.
So nice that they made the trip up to see us. Believe me, I know that road trip isn't always a "joy ride" -- especially with children and dogs! We love it when family are able to come and visit. The boys and Kelsey love making the connection with Grandma and others, and it's so nice to have family here to partake in the chaos! Thanks, Sue, for making the drive. I hope you enjoyed yourself ... at least the change of scenery.
Aunt Sara sent up a early Christmas present for Kelsey and Isabelle -- matching fleece jackets and real cute purse/jewelry boxes. Grandma G. brought matching pajamas, too. Needless to say, Kelsey and Isabelle were like "two peas in a pod!" So fun! The kids made some pictures with Crayola Color Wonder Finger Paints/markers, helped Grandma make a pumpkin pie, made their own individual little pizza's with pepperoni, played and just had a fun time being together.
Grandma and four of her beloved grandchildren on the front porch right before leaving on Sunday.Early afternoon Robert said to me..."I miss Grandma." She was only out of town for about three hours!
Yesterday at church I thought a lot about my Mom. I think about her every day, but I think each change of season and when I go to church, it really hits me. Life is full of changes, and I am so grateful for the memories....recent and past.
Have a grateful Monday.
