Hike...

Went for a fall hike yesterday after church. The boys each brought a friend and we trekked up Sugar Loaf Mountain. It was 86 degrees! Not what you'd call a crisp fall day. It was very humid and by the time we reached the top, we were all hot, sweaty and thirsty. Kelsey started up in the front of the pack and then later wanted someone to carry her on their shoulders. Tim and I held firm that she would just have to do it on her own and that we would hold her hand.

She took hold of Tim's hand and was a little trooper making the long hike in the high humidity.

Mom (Grandma Glover) was here for the weekend. She came up on Thursday afternoon right before the boys got out of school. Tim had a dinner meeting that night, so we picked up sub sandwiches and headed to the park. The weather was gorgeous. Friday while the boys were in school, we plopped Kelsey in her stroller and took a nice long walk and checked out Tim's new office, went into a couple of downtown shops, and then met Tim at the New York Deli for a corned beef sandwich. They have THE BEST corned beef sandwiches. A little pricey, but melt in your mouth good! Friday late afternoon it started to rain, but it let up just in time for us to watch the NMU Homecoming Parade. The kids made a haul on candy...it felt like Halloween. Saturday was kind of dreary and quite rainy. We hit the mall and Tim did a little construction job on our back hallway. Friday night Robert stayed up (after Ryan & Kelsey were sleeping) with his Grandma Glover to visit and camp out in the living room. He said it was special. Tim and I got out for a few hours both nights for drinks and dinner (without kids!) and I have to say, that was also pretty special. We don't do that nearly enough. All and all it was a nice weekend.
