O'Christmas Tree, O'Christmas Tree...

How lovely are your branches. Sing song here. Don't know all the words. Did know it in German though in 5th & 6th grade. Anyway, my story here with Christmas trees. Last year the boys bought a little blue tinsel Christmas tree for their room. A few little homemade ornaments and it makes a wonderful night light. The boys love it. Well, this year, Kelsey really wanted her own little Christmas tree for her room. And, I thought, well...she was born on Christmas Eve?!?!?!?! Ya know, she should have her own Christmas tree. She wanted a pink Christmas tree. Nothing else would do...it had to be pink. I put it off and put it off and then one day we were at Michaels. On sale were different Christmas trees. Evergreen, silver tinsel, blue tinsel, green tinsel and even a red tinsel tree. She didn't want anything to do with a tree unless it was pink. I tried to talk her into a little evergreen tree and told her we would decorate it with just "pink" ornaments. No, she wanted pink. SO, I picked up a box that had a picture of a small pink tree. It was a 36 inch tree like some of the ones on display. It's bigger than the tree that the boys have, but I thought, well...she was born on Christmas Eve!!!

We busied ourselves the next few days. I left the pink Christmas tree in the box in the back of the van. Out of sight, out of mind, right? Well, on Sunday afternoon, Kelsey asked where her tree was. I went out to the van and brought the box inside. I proceeded to open the box and pull the tree out.

Now. Can you say "Pink?"

Now. Can you say "Feather?"

Yes, my friends, Kelsey has a Pink Feather Christmas Tree!

Her eyes lit up like you wouldn't believe. Now for me...I thought we bought a pink tinsel tree. No, I grabbed the box that contained the ever lovely pink feather tree. I tried (very sneakingly) to shove it back into the box and explain to her that we got the wrong tree. There was no turning back for Kelsey. Once she caught a little glimpse of the pink feather tree, that's all she wrote. She LOVED IT!!!!
After pleading with her a little bit and trying to talk her into exchanging it...she was no way, no how, exchanging her pink feather tree in for a pink tinsel or a evergreen with pink ornaments, it was the
pink feather tree or nothing.

And now folks, I present to you... Kelsey's very own pink feather Christmas tree.
