Regular...Common...Normal...

It's been a long time since I've posted on the 'ole blog. Busy days and probably like you...cold days, too. I haven't taken many photos recently because it's too dang cold outside. Here are a few of Kelsey helping me make banana bread and muffins. Tip: place the flour, baking soda, powder, cinnamon, etc. in a gallon sized zip-loc bag and let the kids "shake and squeeze" ---much less mess than having them stir it in a bowl! Oh, and it saves cleaning another bowl, too.

She loves to help out in the kitchen.

Last Friday night the boys went with Tim to the ski hill to serve dinner and dessert to the Special Olympians. They have done this for the past few years. Tim's Rotary Club is one of the organizations that help out with this event. The boys always enjoy it. Afterwards, they do a little skiing. However, this year it was soooo cold, that they only did one or two runs!

Saturday the boys had friends over to play. The Wii was going strong.
I finally got all the Christmas stuff put away and the closet is organized and simplified.
The boys had yesterday off for Martin Luther King day...the teachers had an in-service day. They went to a friends house for most of the morning and then a friend came over here for most of the afternoon. Oh, the social/activity calendar for 7 & 9 year old little boys can be quite busy!

Today it's back to a more common routine. Kelsey and I are getting ready to go to the YMCA for my workout and she can have lunch and play with her friends. Then she goes to school after that. Then, it will be my time to shower, pick up some groceries, figure out what to fix for dinner (yikes, haven't done that yet), pick the kids up, and then I go to work until 7:00. In my spare time, I'm reading up on Disney World. We are planning a trip in April....the kids (me, too) are so excited. Dreamin of the sunshine & magic!

Hope you have a wonderful week.

I'll leave you with a favorite quote.

To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury;
and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable; and wealthy, not rich;
to study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly; to listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages,
with open heart; to bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasion, hurry never; in a word, to let the
spiritual, unbidden and unconscious grow up through the common. This is to be my symphony.
