this sight in the backyard can only mean one thing...
bike decorating for the 4th of July!
I wasn't even sure if the boys would want to participate this year, but when I mentioned it to them, they didn't hesitate and wanted to decorate their bikes. They don't ride in the parade because they enjoy watching it too much (oh and the gobs of candy they collect,) however the morning of the parade they have a bike parade at Lakeview Arena and a contest where you get ice cream coupons and the possibility of some fun prizes. Last year, Robert won first place in his age category. His prize was a ribbon and an interview with our local tv news. The best prizes are through a drawing. This will be Kelsey's first year entering. She was having so much fun decorating!
When Kelsey spots a Caterpillar or a little bug, she stops what she's doing and just HAS to pick it up. No time for flag waving and decorating when there is a little squirmy thing to be watched and played with!
