Beautiful Fall...

This is Kelsey saying..."Mom, look how beauuutiful!" We went for a hike today after church & lunch and Kelsey was so happy to reach the top of Sugarloaf Mountain. We started the hike with light jackets/sweaters, but ended up peeling them off before we reached the top.

This is the sight I saw most often...the kids well ahead of me and finding all sorts of big rocks and paths to explore.

A beautiful & warm fall day.

This weekend was a three day weekend because the boys had Friday off of school and Kelsey always has Fridays off. Tim and I took off Friday and we left Thursday after school to spend the night in Green Bay and have a little family break at the Tundra Lodge. We were not there for very long, but the kids had a blast at the park and the arcade. Before driving home on Friday we hit Barnes & Noble and our favorite lunch spots for everyone. Yes, we got food to go from McDonalds, Long John Silvers and for Tim and I some fast food Mexican. We all were happy! Saturday was sleeping in and enjoying the nice weather and picking out some little pumpkins and gourds at the pumpkin stand. The kids already have pumpkins to carve and we wanted to try and find one of those heirloom pumpkins (maybe a white one) to put on our dining room table or porch table. The stand didn't have any.

Last night I made pumpkin cookies. Tomorrow night for dinner I'm going to make pumpkin pancakes with the kids. We've already had pumpkin dip for an after school snack. Do you think we like pumpkin? I'm always trying to incorporate some pumpkin recipe into our days. That and I'm always burning my Yankee Pumpkin Candle.

Hope you had a nice fall weekend of color, warmth, love and a little pumpkin sprinkled on top!
