1927 - 2006

Last night my Mom passed away and is now "home" with my Dad, her parents, brothers, sister and many others that she loved. No more pain.

She will be sadly missed, however, fondly remembered in our hearts. I am so glad Robert, Ryan & Kelsey were able to know and love her. The past 20 months have been hard and draining -- but in light of it all, many lessons learned, along with recognizing the many blessings we have been given. We love you Mom/Grandma.

Above are just a few of the photos I took over the course of the past 20 months. Below is something I wrote in my journal after we had to take her to the nursing home following her surgery and stroke.

you lay in the small twin bed. I leave the room so that you can be set up in an old velour covered lazy boy,

the light is dim - I can't open the blinds all the way - the window is shut over top,

you are surrounded by things -- photographs of those who love & adore you, knick knacks, stuffed animals, cards, etc.,

my heart breaks - tears flow each and every time I visit,

I don't know if you know,

I miss you deeply,

I miss your laugh at my funny stories about the kids, your never-ending support, friendship, advice, love and so much more.

I am reminded about what really matters and how I want to live out the rest of my days and how I only want to surround myself with the good kind of love...

you.
mom.
brave.
dear.
strong.
loved...
