today I am thankful for many things. Some very simple and some big and wonderful.
Kelsey in her new Gymboree outfit. She was hauled to the eye doctor with me today and then again hauled to the parent/teacher conferences that Tim and I attended for Robert & Ryan. She was so good and patient
while she waited and colored in her coloring book.
I am thankful that Molly is eating better.
I am thankful for my "Mighty Deer Hunter" husband who shot two bucks this season. One eight point with his bow and a huge 9 point+ with his rifle.
I am thankful that he took all the kids and two of their friends swimming for a few hours this afternoon so
I could have some "alone" time and rest a little bit.
I am thankful for the caring and totally committed teachers that the boys have in school. They truly care about the children and their potential. We had good parent/teacher conferences with both boys teachers today.
We are having a small quiet Thanksgiving this year. We're going to watch Planes, Trains & Automobiles (annual tradition for us) and Santa Claus3. We'll build a fire tonight in the fireplace and have some warm homemade apple pie. I am thankful that I will be able to sleep in--get up to make my eggnog baked french toast and have a leisurely nice morning (sipping holiday coffee) with Tim and the kids while the Macy's Parade blairs in the background.
I am thankful for a warm home and plenty of food for my family. I am thankful for my family.
I am thankful for God's love.
Many blessings to you and yours for all the simple and big things in your life. No matter how simple, big or even how small, make a mental note (or even write it down or announce it at the dinner table tomorrow) of a few things that you are thankful for today. And try not to be in such a rush and frenzy for Christmas that you step past the beauty and treasure of Thanksgiving.
