See this adorable boy?
Can you guess who we left at the hill yesterday?
Yes. Our middle child, Ryan.
Let me explain. We did NOT do this on purpose. Tim and I drove separately. Tim went about an hour earlier to the ski hill and took the boys with him. Kelsey and I came later to meet up with them on the slopes. We all met and skied and played as a happy family. When it was time to go, Ryan and Tim wanted to go up the chairlift and down the slopes one more time. Robert, Kelsey and I went to take ski's back to the locker room. We all met up and the kids waited in the front of the ski lodge while we went to get our vehicles (like we always do.) There was a race going on at the hill, so the parking lot we had to park at was a little hike. I was probably five minutes ahead of Tim. I drove right up to the lodge where the kids were sitting on the bench (like we always do) and told them to get in. Kelsey and Robert climbed into the van, but Ryan said he was waiting for his Dad because he was driving back with him. I said, "does he know that?" and Ryan replied, "yes." So, I went home and took a little longer route than usual. Of course we live about five minutes from the hill, so either way, it's not a long drive. I get home and see Tim's vehicle in the driveway and I proceeded to take my time getting some things cleaned out of my van. Tim was doing a little shoveling. Anyway, when we both realized that Ryan wasn't with the other person---well, I almost freaked out!!! If you ask Tim, he would probably say, I DID freak out. Tim went and picked him up. I think about 25 minutes had gone by. He was fine, sitting right where we left him. He told Tim that he was going to give us about another half hour and if we didn't show up he was going to go to our locker, get his ski's and go skiing some more.
Oh my...I still can't believe we did that. Poor middle child. Poor Ryan.

OMG, that would freak me out too.
Good thing he didn't freak out, then you would really feel bad. Tim's fault, right? :)
