The kids spent most of the morning decorating our Gingerbread House. Ryan & Robert, once again, worked well together in designing the roof, trim, windows, etc. Kelsey filled in when needed. She got to decorate the whole backside. I think Kelsey ate more frosting and candy than she placed on the house!
When I moved the house into the dining room and told the kids I wanted a picture of all three of them, this is what they gave me....all of them with their fingers in frosting and Ryan looks like he's ready to take a huge bite! It's a fun tradition now after about five years. I remember doing it with Robert when he turned just four years old. Tim stayed home with Ryan and I took Robert to a Gingerbread House workshop at the library. After that day, we made one at home with Ryan. Such fun....now I can't think of ever NOT doing it during the holidays.
Actually, Tim and I were thinking about assembling some little houses with graham crackers and then having a decorating contest. The next couple of weekends are not going to work, but maybe yet before Christmas. If we do it....I'll put pictures of the houses on my blog and YOU can vote (another contest!) Tim thinks he can out-design and out-decorate me...what do you think?
Have a great Saturday!
